The first two editions of our free online (e)mission (im)possible course were a success! We decided to replicate it on a new Training4Change e-learning platform and we are happy to announce that the third edition of the course is now available!
Did you miss the opportunity to complete the course in previous editions? Did you get to know our course and activities only now? Do you want to learn how to integrate climate action into development, cooperation and humanitarian aid?
You can enroll and start the course whenever you like, but to obtain ECTS credits you must complete it by 31 October 2024.
WHAT WE OFFER
The course is one of the outcomes of the (e)mission (im)possible project, co-funded by the European Union, which aims to build pathways towards the decarbonisation of the cooperation and humanitarian aid sector by providing key competences to professionals, volunteers and students in the sector.
The project is the result of cooperation between six organisations in Italy (A Sud, Un Ponte Per, Fondazione Ecosistemi), Spain (Iroko, Bosque y Comunidad, University of Cadiz) and Portugal (AIDGLOBAL). Associated partner of the project is the Department of Communication and Social Research (CoRiS) of La Sapienza University of Rome, which from this edition is the certifying body of the course!
The course is completely free of charge and includes approximately 25 hours of total work, divided into short video lessons, supplementary readings and tests to assess the knowledge acquired on the course material. Four main topics are covered:
A. Perspectives on climate justice: accountability, climate justice and human rights
B. Basics of climate change: climate science and international governance
C. Reducing Emissions: The actions of organisations to reduce their emissions and strengthen their climate action
D. Engaging in change: Engaging donors, partners, local communities and policy makers
Upon completion of the course (you must obtain at least 70% correct answers in the two tests present) you will receive a certificate with which to apply for ECTS.
At the bottom of the page you will find documents that will facilitate your understanding of the learning process:
WHY THE (E)MISSION (IM)POSSIBLE COURSE?
We are a group of organisations dealing with climate, environment, cooperation, reforestation and development that have come together to understand how to integrate actions to reduce climate-changing emissions. Our goal is to improve a sector that is already working towards positive changes and has great potential to address problems in a sustainable and less impactful way.
Through the (e)mission (im)possible project we try to provide some input on strategies and practices as well as tools and information on all these aspects.
If you have an interest in the topic and want to learn more, register for the course and access the platform!
